Does Axeptio honour “Reject” on Shopify?

Having a Axeptio banner isn’t enough to be compliant: it must actually BLOCK trackers until the visitor accepts. Here’s how to check.

What is Axeptio?

Axeptio is a widely used French CMP, known for its polished banners. Like any CMP, it’s only compliant if it actually blocks trackers before consent.

The key point: a banner must block, not just show up

Many stores install Axeptio, show a nice banner… yet trackers still fire before (or despite) rejection. In that case the banner is decorative: it gives a false sense of compliance. A correct setup must prevent non-essential scripts from loading until the visitor says “yes”.

Does your Axeptio banner honour rejection?

Our free scanner goes beyond a simple check: it clicks “Reject” on your banner, then measures whether trackers keep running despite the refusal. In ~30 seconds you know whether your banner actually does its job.

How to fix it

The fix is to wire blocking correctly (Consent Mode, script categorisation, or conditional triggering) so nothing non-essential loads before consent. We’re building the Shopify compliance assistant that checks this continuously and helps you fix it.
