Hotjar is an experience analytics tool: heatmaps, session recordings and on-site surveys.
What data does Hotjar collect?
Interactions (clicks, scrolling, movements), session recordings and session identifiers (`_hjSession…`).
Why it needs consent
Hotjar is an analytics/measurement tracker. In Europe, even non-essential analytics needs consent before firing: it must wait for the visitor’s “yes”, which is what cookie banners are for.
